St.David's Welsh Male Voice Choir

Christmas concert 2025

St. David’s Welsh Male Voice Choir at our Christmas Concert, December 7 2025.  Our choir is smaller this year but we hope to be rebuilding again in the New Year with the return of some members after absences and renewed efforts at recruiting.

We welcomed Jennifer Maxfield who assisted Audrey with keyboards (playing a duet with Audrey and an organ solo).  We hope Jennifer will be able to join us again in the future.

This  is  our  Choir,  at  our  2024 Christmas  Concert, December 1

With Director, Josiah Maxfield, Accompanist, Audrey Stewart and 20 singers.  Please consider joining our group – you could be in our next picture!!

Our History

St. David’s Welsh Male Voice Choir can trace it roots back to 1904 when a small group of Edmonton Welshmen began gathering for singsongs. These singsongs quickly developed into a full-fledged choir led by David Humphreys and David Jones, well known Edmonton tenors.

For over a century the choir has continued to promote the wonderful traditions of Welsh choral singing but they also enjoy many favourites from the music halls of Great Britain, Ireland, Europe, the U.S.A. and Canada.

The choir provides two public concerts per year as well as performing in a number of churches, lodges, hospitals and concert halls. The choir is proud of its long heritage of preserving traditional Welsh choral singing for the greater Edmonton community.

We love to sing.

We (mostly) do not speak Welsh

We welcome new members.
